About the project

The Tongue Rug was traditionally made out of felt in Quebec and in Sweden — it is like a patchwork quilt in the shape of overlapping tongues that are often embroidered with symbolic icons. TONGUE RUG: TAPIS À LANGUES is a work in progress that touches upon themes like language, place and memory. This virtual sladdakavring will grow organically through time and interaction.
