Decided to create a YouTube channel so that I could archive all the tongues. I like that people can stumble upon these tongues within that interface, as it plays with user expectations. They need the context to understand these pieced-together panoramic views, pseudo-videos. What do these landscapes have to do with tongues? If they are curious of the location of each waypoint, Google Maps can lead them to each blog posting.

I'm also interested in the interlinked working process: the YouTube videos of the panoramas (tongues), and the Google Maps (coordinates) are embedded into this blog (rug).

The blog with its associative tags (memory) can be compared to the traditional tongue rug as a crafted object that can function as a mnemonic device — a memory aid. In certain rugs, each tongue was embroidered with an icon that was symbolic to the maker. When people gathered around the object, these icons could trigger memories and associations through conversation and reflection. The rug, through interaction, could potentially store narratives.

This virtual sladdakavring can also archive photos, videos, maps and written reflections on the art making process and associated themes (landscape, memory, place...). The tongue rug can grow via the blogosphere as different narratives evolve through commenting.
